Brazil

I haven't posted any market cards lately, have I? Well... Here comes one from Brazil, more precisely, from Belo Horizonte, the sixth most populous city of Brazil. Gisely writes that all the typical product can be found on the Central Municipal market, from clothes and food to animals.

And a nice ant stamp... Thanks, Gisely :)

Brazil

A great addition to my waterfalls collection came from José - Iguazú Falls! Iguazú Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of Brazil and Argentina and one of the biggest waterfalls of the world. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu.  It flows through Brazil for most of its course. According to the legend, a god planned to marry a beautiful woman named Naipí, who fled with her mortal lover Tarobá in a canoe. In rage, the god sliced the river, creating the waterfalls and condemning the lovers to an eternal fall.
Iguazú Falls was announced as one of the seven winners of the New Seven Wonders of Nature by the New Seven Wonders of the World Foundation in 2011. I've also been reading comments on many travel blogs lauding Iguazú Falls. My must-see list for the South America is getting longer and longer!

Brazil

Rio de Janeiro, or simply Rio, is the second largest city of Brazil, and the third largest metropolitan area in South America, boasting approximately 6.3 million people within the city proper, making it the 6th largest in the Americas. Rio de Janeiro is the most visited city in the southern hemisphere and is known for its natural settings, carnival celebrations, samba, balneario beaches... As such, Rio de Janeiro represents the second largest GDP in the country.
Cristo Redentor is a statue of Jesus of Nazareth located at the peak of Corcovado mountain overlooking the city. It is considered the largest Art Deco statue in the world and the 5th largest statue of Jesus in the world. It is 39.6 metres tall, including its 9.5 metres pedestal, and 30 metres wide. It weighs 635 tonnes.

I've arranged so many swaps with Brazilian collectors but none of them resulted me having a postcard from the biggest country in South America but this one. Thanks go to A'tila ;)
