Hong Kong

The Peak Tram, Hong Kong's oldest form of mechanical transport, opened in 1888. Originally run by stream it converted to electricity in 1926 and then to microprocessor control in 1989. The upper terminus is 397 meters above sea level and the single journey takes eight minutes from the lower terminusin St. John's building. Jane says that the view of the Victoria harbor from the tram is very beautiful.

Thank you, Jane, for the card and nice stamps. The middle one is joint issue with France on art. I like that one the most :)
