And the third, and the last, postcard from Joanna is a beautiful view over Wengen. Wengen a village in the Bernese Oberland, located in central Switzerland at an elevation of 1,274 m above sea level. It has only about 1,300 permanent residents (the number rises up to 5,000 during summer and to 10,000 during winter). Wengen hosts the internationally well-known Lauberhorn ski races, and it is on the route of the Jungfrau Marathon. Wengen is also the home of The Downhill Only Club, one of the oldest British alpine ski clubs, founded there in 1925. Many many thanks to Joanna :)

Switzerland
The second card Joanna stamped and wrote for me is an aerial view of Bern (or Berne), the Bundesstadt (de facto capital) of Switzerland. Unlike the other capitals, it's not the most populous city, but the the fifth one, with the population of app.140,000. In 1983 the historic old town in the centre of Bern became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bern is ranked among the world’s top ten cities for the best quality of life (2010)!

Switzerland
Hello guys :D Did you enjoy the summer? Well, I did and, as you probably noticed, I took a break of blogging and posting new cards for a while. During non-blogging period I received a bunch of amazing cards and I think it's time to share them with you.
I have many blank cards in my collection that I want to receive written and stamped so I am currently occupied with finding people to send them back to me (I need people from Luxembourg, Latvia, Greece or Ireland, so if you're from one of these countries, I'll be more than happy to swap with you!). Joanna sent me three Swiss cards including this beautiful map.
Switzerland (officially the Swiss Confederation) is a landlocked country in Central Europe divided into 26 cantons with Bern as as the seat of the federal authorities. Switzerland covers the area of app. 41,000 square kilometers and has the population of about 8 million. It's also one of the richest countries of the world. Thanks, Joanna!

Switzerland
I got this beautiful aerial view from a postcrossing meeting that took part in Zurich a few days ago. I hope you guys had fun!
Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland with the population of app. 390,000. It is located in north-central Switzerland at the northwestern tip of Lake Zurich. Zurich is a leading global city and among the world's largest financial centres. The city is home to a large number of financial institutions and banking giants. Also, most of the research and development centres are concentrated in Zurich and the low rate of tax attracts overseas companies to set up their headquarters there.
Zurich was also ranked in 2012 first on a list of the top 25 cities in the world "to make a base within". According to several surveys from 2006 to 2008, Zurich was named the city with the best quality of life in the world as well as the wealthiest city in Europe. Seems like an amazing place to live in, or at least to visit!

Switzerland
And the working part of the week is almost over, just Friday more to survive It's been a really busy week, but today I found some free time to scan and post two postcards. I feel like posting some waterfall cards that have been one of my favourite type of postcards lately! The water relaxes, you know ;)
The first waterfalls are situated is northern Switzerland, between the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Laufen-Uhwiesen and called the Rhine Falls. The Rhine Falls is the largest plain waterfall in Europe, measuring 150 m of width and 23 m in height. The falls cannot be climbed by fish, except by eels that are able to worm their way up over the rocks.
Many thanks go to Elisabeth for this great waterfall postcard! The flower stamps represents Pisum sativum.

Switzerland
Switzerland, officially named as the Swiss Confederation, is a landlocked country situated in western Europe, geographically divided between the Alps, the Swiss Plateau and the Jura. Swiss population of approximately 7.9 million people is concentrated mostly on the Plateau, where the largest cities are to be found. Among them are the two global cities and economic centres of Zurich and Geneva. Switzerland consists of 26 cantons, with Bern as the seat of the federal authorities. There are four official languages in Switzerland: Italian, German, French and Romansh.
I am very thankful to Grace for this cute postcard and a nice stamp. This is my only postcard from Switzerland. Thanks, Grace!
