France

This is officially the last post in this year. Due to moving from Rovinj for some time, and many school obligations that are just around the corner, I will not be able to do any updates nor do any swaps. I will try to read the updates on the blogs of my fellow postcard collectors as much as possible, though.
For the last card, I've chosen a Strasbourg view. Magical colours! I am to thank to my sis for this surprise postcard.
Stay positive and send postcards!

France

What a charming place, isn't it? On my must-see list for sure!
Mont Saint-Michel  is an island commune in Normandy, located approximately one kilometre  off the country's northwestern coast. The island has a population of only 44 (2009).
The island has held strategic fortifications since ancient times, and since the eighth century has been the seat of the monastery from which it draws its name. The structural composition of the town exemplifies the feudal society that constructed it: On top, God, the abbey and monastery; below this, the great halls; then stores and housing; and at the bottom, outside the walls, fishermen's and farmers' housing.
Its unique position of being an island only 600 metres from land made it readily accessible on low tide to the many pilgrims to its abbey. Equally, this position made it readily defensible as an incoming tide stranded, or drowned, would-be assailants.
Mont Saint-Michel and its bay are part of the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites and more than 3 million people visit it each year.

France

I'm back after another long break... I can almost feel summer here. It's getting hotter and hotter and the tourist season has already begun. Can you feel summer coming as well?
Here comes yet another postcard from Strasbourg from my sis. You can see the European Parliament, the tram, Notre-Dame Cathedral...

France

Yet another Paris card! There can never be too many cards from Paris in the collection.... This one is very very long (the longest I've ever seen, I suppose) but unfortunately it got bent because of it. It shows some of the most known landmarks of Paris by night. The first shot shows Notre-Dame Cathedral, a Roman Rite Catholic Marian cathedral that is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture and among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world. Thanks go to my dear sis this time :)

France

I have written a lot about Strasbourg, so I'll let you enjoy a Strasbourg multi-view card send by my dear sister. It shows the Capital of Europe, Notre-Dame cathedral, the Little France and the European Parliament. I don't like multi-view cards in general, but this one looks quiet good. Thanks, sis :)

France

It think that it's been told enough about Paris, so I won't write much. I just want to thank my dear friend who sent me a postcard during his trip to France. Hvala, Ivane!

France

I've already written about Strasbourg, so I will just let you enjoy this nice postcard. It shows typical houses (maisons) in the Alsace region, France. Thanks a lot to my dear sis for sending me so many cards during her trips including this one. Thanks, sis :)

France

Another card that my sister sent me - it is a view from Strasbourg, France this time.
Although Strasbourg is quiet small city ( population of about 270 000), it is very important for the EU. Strasbourg is the city in France, located near the border with Germany, and the official seat of the European Parliament. Beside the European Parliament, it is the seat of several European institutions: the Council of Europe,  Eurocorps and the Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine.
Thanks, sis :)

Frace

Who doesn't like Paris? It's become more than just a capital city, it's become a brand, I suppose. It's the the city of art and love. If you asked people which city is their favourite, many of them would answer Paris. As I am not an exception, I like Paris as well.
Davide sent me this nice view of The Eiffel Tower in January. Thanks, Davide:)

The Eiffel Towe, also known as the  iron lady, is an iron tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It was built 1889 and soon it became a symbol of Paris and France in general. The tower is tall 324 meters, which made it the tallest building in Paris and second tallest building in France. The tower is open for tourists in three levels.
More than 200,000,000 people have visited the tower since its construction in 1889. The tower is the most visited paid monument in the world.
