Sweden

This is officially the biggest postcard I've ever received ( 21 cm x 15 cm!). It doesn't even fit in my postcard boy so I'll have to think of another place to store it... Maybe I could frame it? :P
We can see Stockholm's Old Town and the Royal Palace from above, with all the bridges, canals and boats that surround it. The Royal Palace is has 1430 rooms, 660 with windows and is one of the largest royal palaces in the world still in use for its original purpose. Thanks to my dear sis once again!

Sweden

A beautiful aerial view from Sweden reached me yesterday. It shows the capital Stockholm covered in snow. We can see the Town Hall where Nobel Prize banquet takes place in December, the old town with three churches, the Royal Palace and the frozen Baltic Sea all around. Thanks go to Monika :)

Sweden

Look what I found in my mailbox today! It's a view from the beautiful island Gotland, located in the Baltic Sea. Gotland is both biggest Swedish island and the biggest island in the Baltic Sea. The population is 57,221,  of which about 22,200 live in Visby, the main town. Visby is considered the best-preserved medieval city in Scandinavia and has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Among the most notable historical remains are the 3.4 km long stone wall called Ringmuren ("the Ring Wall"), shown on the postcard. It is also quite interesting how Visby got its name... The name comes from the Old Norse Vis, (genitive singular of Vi) meaning sacrificial place, and by, meaning "city".

Sweden

A new country in my collection! I'm having a pretty busy week at school, as the end of the school year is getting closer. Many exams, homework, stuff to do . . . However, this postcard really made me happy on Monday when it reached my mailbox. It's such a great beginning of the week!
It shows Stockholm, the capital and the largest city of Sweden. It has the population of approximately 850 000 inhabitants in the municipality and 1.4 million in the urban area. On the postcard we can see a view over Stockholm from the Kankas Tower.

And two butterfly stamps. What else could I wish for? :)
