Germany
An amazingly designed cards comes from Germany... Cologne (German: Köln) is one of the major European metropolitan areas with more than 10 million inhabitants. It is situated on both sides of the Rhine River. The University of Cologne (Universität zu Köln) is one of Europe's oldest and largest universities as well.
Cologne Cathedral, whose silhouette you can see on the card above, is Germany's most visited landmark, attracting an average of 20,000 people a day. It is a renowned monument of German Catholicism and Gothic architecture and is a World Heritage Site.

Germany
This medieval castle looks a bit spooky, as if it was taken out of a fairy tale, don't you think? It's called Burg Elzt and it's still owned by a branch of the same family that lived there in the 12th century, 33 generations ago (can you believe this?!). The castle is surrounded on three sides by the Elzbach River, a tributary on the north side of the Moselle. It is situated on a 70 m rock spur, on an important Roman trade route between rich farmlands and their markets. Thank you, Maren!

Usually multi-views are not my first choice when I pick a card that I'd like to get, but this German official is really nice indeed. The postcards represents a small town Meissen in 36 pictures. Meissen (in German orthography: Meißen) is situated on both banks of the Elbe river in the Free State of Saxony, in eastern Germany. Meissen is the home of Meissen porcelain, the Albrechtsburg castle, the Gothic Meissen Cathedral and the Meissen Frauenkirche. Thanks, Olga!

The Alster is a right tributary of the River Elbe in Northern Germany. It has its source near Henstedt-Ulzburg, Schleswig-Holstein, flows roughly southwards and reaches the Elbe in Hamburg. In the centre of Hamburg the Alster has been dammed. The Alster forms two artificial lakes in the city of Hamburg, one of them is shown on the postcard above.

What a relaxing view, isn't it? Vanessa sent me this beautiful snowy view from Germany, ie., to be more exact, Wildeshauser geest nature reserve, lower Saxony. It's not that cold here these days, but to be honest I don not miss coldness at all - I prefer watching snowy views ;)

Germany
Such a wonderful surprise that I received from Gabi couple of weeks ago. I'd really like to walk in this park, it seems so peaceful and relaxing. The park is a part of the Nymphenburg Palace, a Baroque palace in Munich, Bavaria, southern Germany. The palace was the main summer residence of the rulers of Bavaria. The palace, together with its park, is now one of the most famous sights of Munich.
Thanks, Gabi :)

Freiburg is a city in extreme south-west of Germany, with population of about 230,000 people. One of the famous old German university towns, Freiburg was incorporated in the early 12th century and developed into a major commercial and intellectual center of the upper Rhine region. Freiburg is also, according to statistic, the sunniest and warmest in Germany and holds the German temperature record of 40.2 °C. One of the most remarkable landmark in Freiburg is the minster with its 116-meters-high spire.

Dusseldorf is a city in Germany and the centre of the Rheine-Ruhr metropolitan region. It has the population of 588,735 people within city limits, and it's the seventh largest city in Germany. It is interesting to mention that there was 3,376 Croatians in Dusseldorf in 2008. It is known for its academy of fine arts and fashion and trade fairs.
Germany is a very special country for me, because my aunt and uncle and some relatives live there. I have many nice memories connected to Germany. I hope that there will be even more of them in the future :)
This official card reached my mailbox long time ago, but I remember that it really made me happy. Thanks to Norbert who sent me this nice nightview!

Here comes an official card from Germany that I received in August last year. Although I don't like muliti-views in general, I like this one quiet a lot.
Nuremberg ( Nurnberg) is a city in the German state of Bavaria, in the administrative region of Middle Franconia. It's placed about 170 kilometers noth of Munich. Nuremberg is also the biggest city of Franconia.
According of the first documentary mention of the city in 1050, the city was probably founded it 11th century. Nuremberg (Nurnberg) is more known by its later history ( WWII, Nuremberg trials), though.
I like history a lot, so I find this card pretty interesting.
Have I already mentioned that I adore butterfly/insect stamps?
