Freiburg is a city in extreme south-west of Germany, with population of about 230,000 people. One of the famous old German university towns, Freiburg was incorporated in the early 12th century and developed into a major commercial and intellectual center of the upper Rhine region. Freiburg is also, according to statistic, the sunniest and warmest in Germany and holds the German temperature record of 40.2 °C. One of the most remarkable landmark in Freiburg is the minster with its 116-meters-high spire.
