This medieval castle looks a bit spooky, as if it was taken out of a fairy tale, don't you think? It's called Burg Elzt and it's still owned by a branch of the same family that lived there in the 12th century, 33 generations ago (can you believe this?!). The castle is surrounded on three sides by the Elzbach River, a tributary on the north side of the Moselle. It is situated on a 70 m rock spur, on an important Roman trade route between rich farmlands and their markets. Thank you, Maren!
Love this one too! Maybe I should try to collect "spooky" postcards, haha.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice idea. I'm sure there are not many "spooky" cards collectors. To be honest, I've never met such!
