Russia

Julia sent me two more Russian multiplies for my collection. The first one depicts, as you can see, traditional Russian clothes. I especially like the felt boots called valenki (the name valenok literally means "made by felting"). They are traditional Russian winter footwear made of wool felt. Total annual production of the felt shoes in Russia is approximately 4.5 million. There are even several valenki museums, one of which is situated in Moscow.
Another thing that got me interested is kokoshnik. It's commonly used name for a variety of a traditional Russian head-dresses worn by women and girls. Wearing kokoshnik was popular between 16th and 19th century.
