Slovenia

Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia, and with approximately 280,000 inhabitants, it is classified as the only Slovenian large town. The postcard, sent to me by my dear sis, shows the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation located on Prešeren Square.   It is the parish church of Ljubljana - Annunciation Parish. Its red colour is symbolic of the Franciscan monastic order. Next to the church there is a Franciscan Monastery founded in 1233. The monastery is notable for its library, containing more than 70,000 books, including many incunabulae and medieval manuscripts
